The game
A party game of bluffing over real news.
Every round opens with a real local headline that has a few words blanked out. While the clock runs, each player fills the gap with something that could pass for the truth. Then all the versions, the real one among them, go on the table without names, and everyone votes for the one they believe.
Most of your points come from players who fall for your fake. Spotting the truth pays too, just less, so a believable lie is worth more than a funny one. If nothing comes to mind, the paper can write a version for you at a lower rate. The last round is a special edition worth more points, so whoever is behind still has a way back.
